Vera Louise Skelton Carroll was born March 5th, 1945, to Tommy and Rebekah Skelton.
She was the 1st of three daughters, and she graduated from Model High School in Rome, Ga after completing all 12 grades.
She attended Friendship Baptist church, where she was baptized and later married Ronnie Carroll in 1963. They moved often, due to Ronnie's job with Western Electric. They had two boys Steve and Scott. As a stay-at-home mom, Vera pursued her interest in interior decorating and floral design. She started a home-based business which became a locally recognized floral and gift shop for many years.
She was an active member at Macland Baptist Church for the past 25 years, praising from the pew, until Steve came and found her a place in the choir. She also served in the nursery and women's ministry. She volunteered at Wellstar Cobb Hospital for the last 10 years. She is survived by her son Scott and wife Kelly, four grandchildren which are Nathan and his wife Jerica, Shelby, Jacob and Hadley. She recently welcomed a great granddaughter named Farrah by Nathan and Jerica. She is also survived by two sisters who are Elaine Keasler and Lucy and her husband Stanley Geraldson and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie in 2012 and son Steve in 2025.
Vera believed that God brings people into our lives through church, and work, and through the doors of unexpected blessings and God's provision. She was found faithful and stood on God's promises.
