Terry Renfroe, 76, passed away on November 9, 2025 of complications of Parkinsons and Emphysema.

Terry was born in Atlanta, moved to Mableton, and graduated from South Cobb High School. He and Kay met in summer school class. Neither of them ever learned to like math. After returning from Vietnam and starting a family, he stayed close by and worked at Sears for more than 20 years. He retired from Sears and joined the growing family vending business to handle machine moves and repairs.

Terry grew up playing baseball, later coached softball, was a Boy Scout leader, and he really loved comedy. From early TV like Ernie Kovacs to Richard Pryor records and much more, something funny was always around. He knew Brother Dave Gardner stories by heart and was always happy to recite them. He was also funny himself. And a smart aleck. If anyone ever asked, “what can I get you?” his answer was always the same: “A 10 lb. box of 20-dollar bills.” Behind the jokes he hid some tough times, but he was always present.

He kept lifelong friends, took road trips, and had some adventures. One of his fondest memories was of Ramblin’ Raft Races down the Chattahoochee. Terry was always game. Even when Jason and Josh decided to tie a rope around a bed and rappel out of a second story window, Terry didn’t hesitate to put his own shoe marks on the house! Anyone who knew him will have similar stories and have fond memories of Terry. And of course, we will remember Terry for the love of his beloved dogs throughout the years.

Terry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kay, 2 sons Jason and his wife Masako Renfroe of Marietta, and Josh Renfroe of Apopka, FL, granddaughter Anna Mae Renfroe of Marietta, Sister Carol Renfroe Searcy Wright of Marietta, Nephew Jeff and his wife Angela Searcy of Marietta, Neice Debbie Searcy Clark of San Antonio, TX, Great Nephews Noah, Eli, Stephen and Bryce and Great Niece Taylor.
