Marietta, Georgia

Susanne "Susie" Morris Gann, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on April 30, 2025, in Cobb County, Georgia, at the age of 68. Born on May 18, 1956, in Fulton County, Georgia, Susie was a beacon of love and laughter throughout her life.

A 1974 graduate of Douglas County High School in Douglasville, Susie embarked on a commendable career that spanned over three decades. She dedicated 20 years to Wallace Oil Company in Smyrna, where she served as an executive administrator and held a commercial real estate license. Her commitment and work ethic carried over to her subsequent role with the Tag and Title of Cobb County Government for 12 years. No matter where she found herself working, Susie consistently gave 110%, earning a reputation as an extremely dedicated employee who enjoyed interacting with people and sharing infectious laughter.

Susie’s vibrant personality was characterized by her beautiful smile, quick wit and a contagious joy that endeared her to everyone who crossed her path. She hosted Easter and Thanksgiving for her family for 30 plus years where she made sure all had plenty of delicious food and love to go around. She had a talent for telling jokes and spread happiness wherever she went. Her hobbies reflected her passion for connection; as a young adult, she was an active member of the Girl Scouts, forming cherished friendships during her teen years. Additionally, she participated in high school varsity sports, including basketball, and created lasting memories as part of the playful softball team known as the "Gann Girls." Traveling to casinos with family and friends was a favorite pastime, as she delighted in testing her luck and enjoying time with loved ones. She adored animals, loved flowers and had an exceptionally green thumb.

Susie was also a devoted member of her faith community, having been baptized at Douglasville First Baptist Church as a young teen. Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and faith.

Susie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Derryl Gann; daughter Kristy Gann; and son Matt and his wife Nina Gann. She cherished her granddaughters, Sydney and (Jay) Postell, and Alli Lipstein, along with her great-grandson, JT Postell. Her siblings, Sunny and (Richard) Webb, Ron and (Pat) Morris, David and (Shelly) Morris, and Deanna and (Barret) Dickinson, as well as sisters-in-law Sherryl and (Joe) O’Donnell, Karen and (Ronnie) Wells and several nieces, nephews and cousins also hold fond memories of her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Marvin and Carolyn Morris, who undoubtedly shaped the loving person she became.
