Stewart Albee

December 11, 1949 — March 25, 2025

Stewart Ray Albee, age 75, was born in Eugene, Oregon, on Sunday, December 11, 1949. He passed away peacefully at home in Dallas, Georgia, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, joining God, Jesus, and his beloved family members who had gone before him.

Stewart spent the first part of his childhood in Oregon, creating cherished memories with his parents, sister, and grandparents. The second part of his childhood was spent in Rochester, Michigan, near the great Motor City of Detroit, where he developed a deep love for family and a strong sense of community. As a child, he enjoyed building model cars, collecting and trading baseball cards, participating in Boy Scouts, and attending family gatherings, outings, and adventures.

He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and served honorably in the Navy Reserve, contributing his expertise in supply management for aircraft. Around the same time, he began a distinguished career in retail management. Spanning decades, his leadership roles at Kmart, Walmart, Drug Emporium, and CVS left a lasting impact, with 28 years dedicated to CVS.

Stewart fell in love with Sydney Ann Green, and they married in Flint, Michigan, on September 19, 1987. In 1989, his job at Walmart brought him to Georgia to open one of the largest Walmart stores in the region at the time. After briefly living in Marietta, Georgia, Stewart and Sydney settled in Dallas, Georgia, where they welcomed their only child, Jamie John Albee, later that year. Stewart and Sydney made Jamie into the man he is today. Stewart leaves him with memories and a foundation to last a lifetime and more.

A devoted family man, Stewart's greatest accomplishment was the unwavering love and sacrifices he made for his family. He shared a close and loving bond with his sister, Louise Ann Miller, with whom he enjoyed traveling abroad. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Ruth Albee; his sister, Barbara J. Albee; and his beloved wife, Sydney Ann Albee.

Stewart lived an active and adventurous life, finding joy in hiking Kennesaw Mountain three times a week, biking, going to the gym nearly every day, watching movies, attending Braves games, and sharing meals with family and friends. His energy, warm spirit, and laughter made every moment special. Known for his selflessness and generosity, Stewart never hesitated to lend a helping hand, leaving a positive impact on everyone he met.

His life was a testament to kindness, strength, and an enduring sense of adventure. He embraced each day fully, appreciating every blessing and spreading light to those around him.

Stewart will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, laughter, generosity, and adventure will continue to inspire and bless those he leaves behind.
