During her second quarter at college, while working in the college cafeteria, she met Ken, a young man from a small town in central Minnesota. She graduated from college and started her first job as a teacher. They were married on June 26, 1965.
During the 60+ years of marriage, Ken & Sherry were seldom apart. The early years were spent in Western Iowa where they welcomed their children Josh & Julie. After leaving Iowa, they spent many years in south central Illinois. She taught school in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, and Georgia where they finally settled. She retired from teaching in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004.

Sherry wanted to see every place in the world, and they did their best to accomplish that goal. Later in life, Sherry was unable to travel. They spent much of their time together enjoying the company of neighborhood & church friends and family. She enjoyed decorating her patio with artwork of birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. She enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers.
Sherry was a good Christian woman who was devout in her faith in Jesus and passed that along to her family. She loved her husband and family first and foremost and did her best to pass on her knowledge and faith to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
