Ronald Jack McCratic of Powder Springs, Ga, formerly of Arlington Heights, Il passed away on October 19, 2026. Jack was born on December 21, 1947 to Edward Othello McCratic and Jacqueline Sally (Schon) McCratic who lovingly referred to him as 'Happy Jack'. He married Debra Lee (Dobesch) McCratic on June 19, 1978 in Glenview, Illinois. Jack dutifully served his country for 21 years as a Vietnam veteran and ADR1 Naval Air Crewman before retiring and working for 20 years at Raytheon Aerospace and 13 years at Home Depot. He loved airplanes, and computers, and anything he could take apart and put back together again. He never met an animal that wasn't his friend.
Jack worked his whole life to provide support, comfort, and nourishment for his family. Survivors include his faithful wife of 48 years, Debbie, his daughters Rebecca Lee (McCratic) Fulcher and Jenna Joy McCratic, as well as his brothers and sisters Sally-Jo (Donald) Walker of Arizona, Darlene (Alexander) Porteus of Illinois, Pamela (David) Van Heuklom of Wisconsin, Timothy (Lisa) McCratic of Georgia, and Michael Scott McCratic of Illinois, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Jackie, as well as his brother Bill and sister Melodie. His granddaughters Charlotte, Emily, and Averie will miss his jokes and his hugs. May he finally rest easy knowing he faithfully served his country and his family well.
