Ramona "Mona" Burke, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, at the age of 91, following a courageous and lengthy battle with her health.

Mona was born on July 2, 1934. Known for her resilience and the deep love she held for her family, she lived a full life characterized by her roles as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mona was a woman of remarkable talent and creativity. She was an amazing cook who delighted in feeding those she loved. She also had a passion for working with her hands, expressing her artistic spirit through painting, quilting, and making clothes. Her attention to detail shone through in her creation of beautiful porcelain dolls, and she found great joy in her hobby of collecting Beanie Babies. These handmade treasures, shared meals, and collections remain as a testament to her vibrant imagination and skill.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Boulware and Peter Burke; her beloved son, David Boulware; and her sister, Betty Thurman.

Mona’s legacy of love continues through her surviving family and those closest to her. She is survived by:

Her companion: Jessie Abney.

Her children: daughter Felecia (Andy) Anderson and son John (Marnie Teich) Boulware.

Her grandchildren: Tim (Suzanne) Boulware, Hope (David) Sanders, John Anderson, Andrew (Kayla) Anderson, Elizabeth (Brent) Niemerski, and Rebecca Boulware.

Her thirteen great-grandchildren: Douglas, Jordan, Lily, Daniel, Alice, Rachel, Shiloh, Dylan, Joshua, Eli, Kaden, Millie, and Lyla.

Mona will be remembered by those who knew her for her creative heart, her strength, and the enduring bond she shared with her family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064
