Rachel Robertson

August 19, 1934 — May 26, 2024

Rachel June Pace was born in Rutledge, Georgia on August 19, 1934. Her parents were Wilson Autry Pace and Mellie Irene Hollis. She had an older brother, Autry (Tiger) Pace and a younger sister, Diane Pace Loftin. Both siblings are deceased. Rachel has two half siblings – Steve Pace of Phoenix City, Alabama and Suzy Pace of Covington, GA.

Rachel’s family moved to Atlanta when she was 10. She graduated from Bass High School and married the man of her dreams when she was 20. She dated Harvey Lee Robertson, Jr. of Kirkwood, GA for six weeks before he left for Germany where he served our country in the Army in 1951, post WWII. He returned in December of 1952, and they were married in January 1953. Rachel and Harvey had two daughters – Terri Alaine born on September 20, 1957, and Tracy Leigh, born on Mom’s Birthday in 1963. Terri married Randy Daniel in April 1978 and Tracy married Branson Washington in 1988.

Rachel had 4 grandchildren: KYLE Graham Daniel, married to Jamie Wiedman (Ball Ground, GA), KELLI ANN Daniel married to Tyler Ransom (Ball Ground, GA), Rachel TAYLOR Washington married to Drew Worthington (Corpus Christi, TX), Branson LEE Washington married to Kaitlynn Cantrell (Marietta, GA). She has 9 great grandchildren: Townes Harvey Ransom 6, Weston Andrew Worthington 5, Hadley Ann Daniel 3, Grady Lee Washington 2, Mercy June Ransom 2, Wallis Ruth Worthington 2, Wrenley Rae Worthington 11 months, Collins Emma Washington 3 months, Lainey Lynn Daniel 4 weeks.

She and Harvey were very involved in their church - Kirkwood Baptist and Rainbow Park, which is where Terri and Tracy came to know Jesus and were baptized. Rachel was a Dental Hygienist and worked for Dr. Howard Grant off and on for 40 years, retiring at 62. She was a great golfer. They were members at East Lake Country Club, where Harvey served a term as President. They were also members of Trillium Links and Lake Club in Cashiers, NC.

Rachel was always a giver, caretaker and good friend to everyone. Her smile was contagious, and she loved BIG. She was very committed and protective of her family. She and Harvey were married for 62 years. God showered them with blessings, and He took her home to be with him for eternity in heaven. We will be forever grateful for the impact she made on our lives and the lives of so many others.

We are so grateful for all the caregivers at Daybreak Village and the Tapestry Hospice nurses/staff who loved on Mom and cared for her in such beautiful ways. We hope when you remember Rachel, that you will remember her kindness and love!
