Patricia Watkins Johnson was born on April 13, 1940, to Guy and Donnie Watkins and lived in Atlanta until she was 6 years old when they moved to Kennesaw, Georgia. She grew up in Kennesaw with her siblings, mom, and dad. She attended school at Kennesaw Elementary School and then went to Sprayberry High School. In 1960, she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Johnson. They had a whirlwind romance and were married after 3 months. They built a home together in Kennesaw where they lived for over 60 years.
Patricia was a fiercely stubborn woman and was very independent. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved her family, her church, Living Stone Church, but most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived in the service of Christ for over 70 years. Pat was a Sunday School teacher, a choir member, and a member of the singing group “The Jerry Johnson Singers” in which she sang alto and belted out her songs for the glory of her king. Patricia was one of the first female ordained ministers at her church at which she was a member for over 50 years. She was known for her wisdom of the bible and her compassion for others.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jerry Roger Johnson, Sr., her parents, Guy and Donnie Watkins, her brother Guy Lewis Watkins, and her sisters Gloria Jordan and Geraldine Hogan. She is survived by her children Roger (Micki) Johnson, Shana Adams, David Johnson, and Victoria Johnson. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Stephen (Annie) Johnson and Noelle Adams, and sisters, Margaret Coker and Linda Southern. She is blessed to have three beautiful great-grandchildren, Ellie, Owen, and Charlotte.
Though she is no longer with us physically, her memory will be cherished forever.
