Patricia Davenport Bolin

August 10, 1940 — October 31, 2023

On October 31, 2023, Patricia Ann Davenport Bolin, age 83, entered through the Pearly Gates of Heaven and received her special angel wings.
Born in Siluria, Alabama on August 10, 1940, Pat was the sixth of 10 children born to Helen Wooten Davenport and Walton Stewart Davenport, Sr. She graduated from Thompson High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart Charles Bolin on August 22, 1958. In May of 1959, they welcomed their first beautiful child into the world, Teresa Faye “Teri,” and on December 30, 1960, their precious son, Michael Wade, was born. They raised their family in Alabaster, Alabama until moving to Georgia in May of 1984.
Ms. Pat was greeted in Heaven by her precious Momma and Daddy and all of her brothers and sisters… Walton Stewart, Sr., Dorothy Jean Johnson, James Houston “Peanut,” Harold Leon, Leonard Ray, Shirley Faye Ross, Reba June Henson, Larry Wayne and Richard Dale, as well as a host of friends and loved ones. As she passed into her “better home a-waiting,” the last of 10 children to leave this world, “the circle was truly unbroken!”
Pat was deeply loved by everyone who knew her and will be truly missed by her husband of 65 years, Charles Bolin, her children Teri Bolin and Wade Bolin (Deb), her grandchildren Trey (Laura), Matt (Sarah), Taylor, Grant (Tasha), Kelsey (Jake), great-grandchildren Chastina, Tyler, AJ, Lila, Kate, Isaiah, Ridley and Hayes, her many nieces and nephews, her precious neighbor Juanita Garcia, her Sunday School Class at Hurt Road Baptist Church and so many amazing friends and loved ones.
Many people come into our lives, but special people leave footprints in our hearts. Ms. Pat was one of those special people. She loved her family more than anything in the world. She loved being a wife, a Momma, a MawMaw, a sister, and an aunt. Whether she made her home in Alabaster, Alabama or Marietta, Georgia, her family knew that her door was always open and they would be welcome any time… for weekly Rook games, family gatherings, or just a place to stay. She always had an extra bed.
With an open door and an open heart, Pat lived life to its fullest, never met a stranger and loved unconditionally. She worked at Jimmy’s Store for over 30 years, not because she needed the money but, because she loved the people… Bjohn, Jimmy, Christina, Wendy, Rachel, Ronnie, and so many precious friends who came through that door over the years. She shopped at Goodwill, thrift stores and garage sales, because she just liked meeting people and truly loved finding treasures. She loved going to Church and was the last person to sit down after greeting and hugging every single person in every pew. She loved Golden Corral and Fried Tomato Buffet and got to know every waitress on a first name basis, actually spending more time talking than eating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. and the interment to follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
