Oveida Smithwick Miller

Oveida Imogene Smithwick Miller (Grandma), age 87, of Marietta, Georgia passed away September 15, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Brian Miller and with Rev. Ken Meredith officiating. Interment will follow on Wednesday, September 25th at 11am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory. 

Oveida Imogene Smithwick Miller was born on November 28, 1936, in Knoxville, TN. Oveida was the second child, and the only daughter of Paul Thomas Smithwick and Helen Stalyon Smithwick. 

Oveida married Air Force serviceman Ronald H. Miller in March of 1956, and they moved to Ohio. They later moved to Marietta, GA in 1959.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her eldest brother, LeRoy Smithwick, and her spouse, Ronald H. Miller.

Oveida leaves behind surviving family members; A younger brother, Thomas Smithwick (Ann); Sons, Ronald H. Miller, Jr., (Lynn), Brian R. Miller, and Gregory L. Miller. She is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, Richard Miller (Becky) and April Miller Dominick (Jacob), Joshua and Brandon Miller (Alicia), and 5 Great Grandchildren, Aaron and Katelynn Miller, Thomas and Logan Miller, and Sebastian Dominick. 

Oveida also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends from Spring Street Baptist Church of Smyrna, GA.
