Nora J. Fair

Nora Josephine Fair, 87, most recently of Canton, GA, was called home on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Affectionately known as “JoJo,” she was born on June 15, 1939, in Atlanta, GA, to Catherine and Henry Godby. She married Richard Fair on August 23, 1957. Together, they raised two sons and made their home primarily in the Atlanta area.

JoJo lived a life rooted in faith and guided by a deep love for her family and dearest friends. She took immense pride in her home and her sons. She especially loved the holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. Her home was always open, and she welcomed everyone to gather and enjoy the seasons together.

JoJo’s kindness, gentleness, and wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all who knew her. Always quick with a bright smile and a helping hand, she lit up a room when she entered and wove her love into every conversation. She had a special way of making everyone feel at ease, welcomed, and cared for. She was, indeed, a true Southern lady.

JoJo leaves behind a lasting legacy in her sons, Michael (Sherry) and Christopher (Kimdi); her grandchildren, Stephanie and Brian (Sara); and her great-grandchildren, Brantley and Kaylee. She also leaves countless family members and friends who will carry her memory and the love she shared with them forward.

She was welcomed into eternal rest by her beloved husband, Richard, and her dear friend, Roz.
