Nancy Kay (West) Dunn, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 30, 1946, at Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the firstborn of seven siblings to Albert Norman West and Joyce A. West.

Nancy was married for an incredible 62 years to James Daniel Dunn, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Together, they nurtured a warm and loving home that became a gathering place for family and friends alike.

Throughout her life, Nancy embraced many roles, always with grace and dedication. From her early days as a talented hairdresser to running a local deli, she touched the lives of countless people in her community. As an active member of the PTA and the local Scouts, she poured her heart into enriching the lives of children around her. Her position as a Sunday School teacher, mentor and member of the Grandmother Club (birthed from her Bible Study group) reflects her strong Christian faith and her commitment to guiding others on their spiritual journeys.

Affectionately known as "Mermaid" among her pool friends, Nancy was a great cook and a creative hostess who loved to throw parties that transformed the simplest of events into truly special occasions. She had a particular fondness for the beach and the lake, where laughter and joy echoed through summer gatherings. Nancy's love for her family was evident in the warmth and care with which she made Christmases and birthdays magical . Nancy was preceded in death by her devoted spouse James; along with parents Albert, Joyce and granddaughter Kaitlyn.

Nancy is survived by her beloved sons, James Michael (Jodi) Dunn, Daniel Keith (Cherie) Dunn; grandchildren, Dylan (Shea) Dunn, Taylor Dunn, and Grace Dunn; siblings, Earlene Dunlap, Miriam West, Adrian West, David West, Kathryn Dunn, and Beth West, along with many nieces and nephews.
