Myrtle O. Shutley

Myrtle Ora Shutley (Morris), 99 and a half years young, passed away on June 19, 2023. She was born to parents Benjamin and Ollie B. Morris on December 14, 1923, and was one of 8 children. She met and married her husband Raymond Clyde Shutley, and together they had two beautiful children, Barbara and Debbie. Myrtle has been a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church since 1943.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Smith of Cedartown and Debbie Shutley of Hiram; granddaughter, Tracy (Eddie) Cosby of Powder Springs; great-grandchildren, Brandy Griffith of Anniston, AL, and Troy Lee (Erin) Cosby of Powder Springs; and great-great grandchildren, Ray Griffith of Anniston, AL, and Charlie and Cameron Cosby of Powder Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, and son-in-law, Troy Smith of Cedartown.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Powder Springs, from 12 noon until 2 pm, with the funeral service at 2 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
