Melanie T. Anderson

On the morning of December 30, 2025, Melanie passed away after a two and a half year battle with cancer; while comforted by her husband. Melanie was 65 years old.

Born to Winston E. Turner and Joan Jones Turner in Atlanta Georgia at Crawford W. Long Hospital. Melanie loved jigsaw puzzles, scrapbooking, the beach, trips to Gatlinburg, and spending time with her family.

Melanie is predeceased by her father and her older brother, Gary Richard Turner (Kelley Turner). She is survived by her mother and her younger brother, Mark Lester Turner (Jane Gower Turner).Melanie loved her family beyond measure. She is the wife of 45+ years to her high school sweetheart, Stony Lee Anderson. She is the wonderful mother of three sons, Matthew Lee Anderson (Jenny), Christopher Ryan Anderson, and Tyler Bryce Anderson (Ana). Melanie is the loving grandmother to Mason Lee Anderson whom she absolutely adored. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and one great nephew.

Melanie retired from Cobb County School District in 2022. Prior to Cobb Schools, she worked for Contel & Fortified Hills Baptist Church. Melanie is a Christian and always proclaimed how God is so good, all the time. Melanie gave her life to Christ at the age of six at Northwest Baptist Church in Atlanta. She never questioned or doubted her faith. She always believed that Jesus died on the cross for her. She passed her faith on to her boys and her grandchild. She and Stony are members at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church.

In lue of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society and City of Hope.

A celebration of her life will be held at Burnt Hickory Baptist Church, on January 6, 2026, at 4 p.m. Visitation at 3 p.m.
