Mary Watts

May 17, 1944 — October 5, 2025

Mary (Crayton) Slaughter Watts, a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2025. Services will be held on November 15, 2025 at the West Cobb funeral home, with visitation beginning at 10am.

Mary was born on May 17, 1944 in Charleston, South Carolina to Crayton Norwood Slaughter and Alice Vernelle Reynolds Slaughter. Mary met her husband, the late Patrick Howard Watts, while he was in the Navy and they married in 1962, raising four children together, Kristine, Brian, Jeffrey and Grant.

Mary was a Neo Natal (NICU) nurse for Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell until her retirement, then transitioned to caring for neglected dogs while working with the Small dog rescue group. Mary's life was spent helping others, human and canine, and she was always happiest making them feel better and loved.

Mary's many contributions cannot be put into words, from the family that loved her, to the innumerable babies she helped save, her absence will be felt by all those that loved her.
