Marie D. Walker

Marie Dorsey Walker, age 81, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 24, 2026, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta with Rev. Bill Rorie officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

Marie was a native of Savannah, GA and spent most of her life in Savannah, and Claxton, GA before moving to Cobb County 11 years ago. She took joy in taking care of children wether at church or at home as a foster parent for 66 new borns. She loved cooking and catering for special events and weddings and she especially loved Christmas time. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Claxton, GA. Marie loved to spend time with her family, friends, and especially her grandsons.

Survivors include: Son: Bennitt (Kim) Walker, II of Powder Springs, GA; daughters: Lisa (Derrick) Jones of Canton, GA and Teresa (Thor) Wayman of Claxton, GA; Grandsons: Bennitt, III and Benjamin Walker, Gregory Jones and Christopher Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.

Donations may be made to St. Jude's Chrildren's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.
