Margie Grant-Edenfield, age 87, of Smyrna, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
Mrs. Grant-Edenfield was born on July 16, 1936 to Josie Norris Cheek and Albert C. Cheek of Abbeville, SC. Along with her husband of 48 years, US Air Force Lt. Col. Robert C. (Bob) Grant, she owned Grants' Business and Tax Service, a tax consulting firm for small businesses in Easley and Clemson, SC. She published articles in national magazines based on her expertise.
Margie was interested in politics, business ventures and entrepreneurial growth. She held all positions within the Easley, SC Business & Professional Women's Club (BPW), as well as in the state BPW. She received many awards and recognition from the BPW, one of which was "South Carolina Woman of Accomplishment". She was especially eager to tutor young women on how to be successful in business.
As a dedicated bible teacher, she taught all ages, wherever the need arose. Music and missions were her love from childhood.
Margie was a graduate of Abbeville High School and the Anderson Hospital School of Medical Technology. She attended the University of Alaska and graduated from Limestone University in Gaffney, SC with a BS degree in Business Administration and Computer Science.
Margie's second marriage was to Bruce Edenfield of Pahrump, NV for seven years until his death.
She was preceded by both her first and second husbands, her son, Robert Keith Grant and 12 siblings. She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Linda) Grant of Edisto Island, SC, and Kirk David Grant of Smyrna, GA, as well as two grandchildren, Brittany Grant and Chris Grant.
