Marcel Denise Wood, age 71, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on March 27, 2024. A Family Celebration of Life will be held later in Omaha, Nebraska.
A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Marcy was a member of West Metro Church of Christ in Hiram, Georgia. She was born on April 19, 1952, in New Iberia, Louisiana. Prior to moving to Georgia, Marcy and Bert lived in New Orleans, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Costa Rica.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William Herbert Wood, her parents Leslie Everett Galligan and Georgene Sedlacek Galligan, and grandson Jonathan Andrew Battaglia.
Marcy is survived by her children, Rachel Rhodes (Chris) and Heather Burnett (Bryan), of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Marcy B Wood ( Kristin) of Tucson, Arizona, and Peter Wood ( Karen) of Portland, Oregon; her sister Peggy Robertson (Phil) of Acworth, Georgia; her grandchildren Christopher Battaglia ( Shawna) of Dallas, Texas, Ashley Smith, Sophia Birnley, Madyson Cook ( Cody), Grace Feser ( Ashtin), Judah Burnett, Owen Burnett, and Quinn Burnett, all of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her nephew Philip Robertson, of Spring City, Tennessee and niece Molly McCullers of Vinings, Georgia.
