LuAnne Bennett

August 8, 1963 — March 26, 2025

LuAnne was born to Frances and Joe Wallace of East Point, Georgia. She made her debut as the little sister of Larry Joe Wallace. LuAnne was the apple of her Daddy’s eyes. Her beautiful blonde hair and green eyes made it impossible for him to scold her for anything. She grew up In Mableton Georgia and attended South Cobb High School graduating with the Class of 1981. She went on to The Fashion Institute of Atlanta with a Degree in Fashion and Merchandising. She enjoyed fashion and had a unique ability to mix and match colors and patterns. Her favorite part of fashion was the accessories. Jewelry being on the top of her list. This love continued throughout her life where she worked in the wholesale jewelry industry for many years. She then moved into the furniture industry working for Sunrise Home Furnishings as a Sales Representative. She came to know many of the business owners in the Metro Atlanta area. She ended her tenure as an International Trade Liaison. After many years, she decided to have an early retirement and focus on her husband. Although she never had children, she had several nieces and nephews. Larry had four girls of his own, Mandy, Missy, Mollie and Megan. The later of the two were twins. They have several children of their own who she loved very much and always spoiled them at holidays and birthdays.

Her beloved aunt, Elizabeth Jordan had 3 sons Jeff, Kevin and Michael A Christmas Eve tradition at Aunt Liz’s was always full of great food and family love. These were some of her most cherished memories. Regina was a part of the tradition as well. Aunt Liz held a special place in Luanne’s heart especially after her Mother’s passing. She was so grateful for family.

In February 1996, LuAnne met Bill Bennett through the match making efforts of both of their mothers Frances and Faye. From their first date, they felt an immediate connection. They spent a lot of time together and realized they were meant to be together forever. Bill proposed in Rock City, TN after a day spent sightseeing. LuAnne was totally shocked and threw the bag she was holding in the air. It ended up falling to inaccessible ledge on the side of the mountain. Luckily a ranger was able to retrieve it. They were married April 12, 1997 in Gatlinburg, TN in a quaint chapel in the mountains. Over the years, they were totally dedicated to each other spending their down time vacationing around the country. Her favorite place was Charleston where they spent many anniversaries. This year would have been their 28th wedding anniversary.

While attending middle school, LuAnne met Regina Pride Veenstra. Regina was her best friend from day one. They spent countless hours on the phone talking until all hours of the night. On the weekends they had sleep overs switching from one home to the other. Their parents also become great friends and ended up having many great times together including many games of Rummy. Regina and LuAnne considered each other sisters. There was nothing that they did not know about the other. Their friendship was like no other. They spent 50 years sharing everything including marriage, death of their parents, illness and the birth of Regina’s children and then grandchildren. Megan and Justin consider her as Aunt LuAnne . They always looked forward to her well taped packages and sweet surprises. When Regina’s grandchildren came along, they were treated the same and always made to feel loved. Lainey especially loved them and enjoyed spending time with them.

Bill’s sister Genie also became close to her. The family get togethers were always filled with laughter and fun especially giving James a Grinch every year which he hated. Genie and James had twins Jamie and Justin. She spoiled the boys just like she did the other children.

If you knew LuAnne, you know that she had the best heart of anyone. She never had a negative thing to say about anyone. She always provided her friends and family with kindness and generosity. You could guarantee a greeting card at birthdays and holidays. Although she has left this world, heaven has gained a truly sweet soul. It gives her husband and family great comfort to know she is with our Lord and Savior, We now have her as our Guardian Angel. Rest in Peace and know we will love and miss you forever.
