It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Lori Michelle Groves, who departed this life on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love and presence of her loved ones. Memorial service will be held Monday, October 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia.
Born on May 25, 1962, in Danville, Illinois, Lori lived a life marked by faith, laughter, dedication, and love for her family. She was a woman who knew how to find joy in the things she loved most. Whether she was enjoying a good laugh, shopping, cheering on her favorite sports, or spending precious time with her family, Lori brought her own special light to the moments she shared with others.
Lori dedicated more than 30 years of her professional life to working as a dental assistant before transitioning into a front office administrator role. Throughout her career, she devoted herself to her work and built a legacy of dedication and service.
Above all, Lori had a strong relationship with God, and her faith was an important part of her life. Her faith, along with her love for her family, helped shape the woman she was and the memories she leaves behind.
One of Lori's greatest joys was being a grandmother. Her granddaughter, Ari , held a special place in her heart, and the love Lori had for her family was an important part of who she was. She also shared a special bond with the family dog, Lulu, who was part of the family and a cherished companion. The laughter she shared, the time spent together, and the memories created with those she loved will remain treasured by all who knew her.
Lori leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Jasmine Groves, and her cherished granddaughter, Ari Lorielle Barnes. Her sisters, Sharon McClyde, Melvina Halthon, Elizabeth Killingham, and Unjaleek Jackson; her brother, Michael Killingham; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her special friends, Janice Derrickson and Melinda Riley, whose friendship was a meaningful part of her life.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lewis; her father, Augustus Halthon; her sisters, Alma Mangum and Barbara LeSure; and her nephew, Cedric Micheal Eugene Halthon.
Though her passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled, Lori's memory will live on through the people she loved, the laughter she shared, the faith she carried, and the countless moments that made her uniquely herself.
As her family and loved ones mourn her passing, they also celebrate the life she lived and the love she gave. May she rest peacefully in God's eternal care, forever loved, forever remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
The Family will receive friends Monday, October 12, 2026 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
