Linda Gail Young, age 61, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away October 30, 2023. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at Oak Hill Cemetery in Griffin, Georgia.
Linda Gail Young is now in Eternal Peace. Born in 1962, to the late Doris M and Charles D. Young, Linda grew up an only child in Marietta, GA. with many puppy dogs as companions throughout her life. Linda was a member of Crestview Baptist Church. She was a proud 1980 graduate of John McEachern High School. She still followed the Indians' football games; listening to their cheering crowds and marching band this fall outside her balcony. Linda enjoyed her time as a football manager while at McHS and spoke highly of her teachers coaches, and time at school. In fact she received an award for perfect attendance First - 12th grades!A former Miami Hurricanes fan, she became an avid UGA fan in recent years. Of course she has always cheered on the Braves. Linda was proud to have worked at Lockheed, Delta, and DHL. She also worked at Chick Filet and Church's Chicken. Her latest employer was Lowe's Home Improvement where she used her perfected fork lift skills. She has helped with stock/inventory at Sweet Water Missions and at 7 Bridges to Recovery. She has been in involved with Rescue Repurpose and Redeem .org and Must Ministries. Linda struggled with a tough year of poor health. She died in her residence of Powder Springs, GA. As a follower of Christ she has conquered her health issues and suffers no more. Her lively character will be missed.
She is survived by her support cat, Smokey , first cousin Ginny (Gary) Medford, Sharon Young , and second cousins Rebekah and Maddie Medford, Rick (Kim) Young Chad (Ginny) Young as well as other second and third cousins. .
