Karen Davenport, age 78, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. She was born on October 24, 1946, to Russell and Charlette Goodwin of Fort Worth Texas.
Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Davenport; her daughter, Sharla McFarland; her parents, her stepmother, Thelma Goodwin; and her brothers, Don Goodwin and David Goodwin.
She is survived by her children, Scott (Jennifer) Davenport, Troy (Molly) Davenport, and Jill (Chad) Carter. She was a proud “D Momma” to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Karen was a longtime, active member of the church of Christ, where she faithfully served and found great fellowship. She had a creative spirit, spending countless hours crafting and making cards for her loved ones. She never missed a birthday, always sharing her thoughtful creations and reminders of her love. Above all, Karen will be remembered for her kind and loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the happiness she found while spending time with them.
A graveside service to honor Karen’s life will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
Her family and friends will cherish her memory and the love she shared throughout her life.
