We announce the passing of our beloved Judith Ann Hoffmann (née Bender), affectionately known as “Judy,” who passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, following complications related to dementia. Though we miss her deeply, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
Judy was born in Orange County, California, and brought a warm, free-spirited presence everywhere she lived. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry (Fredrick) Hoffmann (77); her daughter, Kristin Marie Hoffmann (46); and her son, James Theodore Gamble (50).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at West Cobb Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to animal and wildlife rescue organizations—causes that were close to Judy’s heart.http://Forgottenpaws.com

Judy lived with authenticity, strength, and fierce love. She served others as a respiratory therapist at Kennestone Hospital from 1985 to 1992. She met life’s challenges with unwavering determination. She had a creative soul and expressed herself through various forms of art, including pottery, watercolor, pastels, and nature-inspired illustrations. Her work reflected the beauty she saw in the world and the emotions that moved her.
A proud “hippie soul,” Judy had a deep love for animals, especially birds, and often said her greatest joy was raising her children. She delighted in calling herself the “coolest mom ever,” and those who knew her would wholeheartedly agree.
Judy’s presence was a gift. She was spirited, compassionate, creative, and unapologetically herself. She leaves behind a legacy of love, art, and resilience. Though gone too soon, she will forever be remembered.
