Joyce Glover Mobley

Joyce Glover Mobley, age 91, of Powder Springs, GA passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at 6pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026 in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. David Glover officiating. The family will receive friends from 4pm until 6pm prior to the ceremony at the funeral home.

Born in Douglas County, Mrs. Mobley grew up in the Adamsville Community of Atlanta before moving to Powder Springs in 1972. She graduated from Southwest High School in Atlanta. In her younger years, she worked as a secretary and stenographer for the Colonial Stores, and later worked in the library at Garrett Middle School.

Mrs. Mobley attended Bethel Methodist Church in Adamsville for many years where she enjoyed singing in the Junior Choir. She also was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed reading, watching birds, and telling stories about her childhood. She was preceded in death by her parents,Fred and Nellie Glover, her husband, Samuel Mobley, and two daughters, Kathy Mobley and Joy Herring.

She is survived by her daughter, Dena Hudson, Hiram, GA; two brothers, Billy (Jeannine) Glover and Jerry (Becky) Glover, both of Lithia Springs, GA; two grandsons, Brett (Elise) Hudson, Savannah, GA, and Luke (Alisha) Hudson, Kennesaw, GA; two great granddaughters, Helen and Ava Hudson, and other nieces and nephews.
