Born on June 30, 1943, in Century, Florida, John’s journey through life was one of commitment—to his family, his country, his community, and his passions.

A proud veteran, John served honorably in the United States Navy, exemplifying the values of duty and integrity. His career was distinguished by his work at Delta Drilling Oil Company, where his steadfastness and professionalism earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a testament to his dedication to fraternity, charity, and moral uprightness.

John possessed a big heart and an even bigger personality, qualities that endeared him deeply to all who knew him. He was a man who lived by the guiding principle he often shared: “Man survives on his awareness alone.” This belief in spiritual, physical, and mental awareness was not just a phrase but a way of life, empowering him to face challenges with resilience and insight.

His home was a haven of joy and hospitality, where karaoke filled the air, and the aroma of delicious, lovingly prepared meals brought people together. John delighted in entertaining his friends and family, always eager to share moments filled with laughter and warmth. His avid gardening reflected his nurturing nature, as he tended to both plants and people with equal care.

Family was the cornerstone of John’s existence. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy Timothy, and his children: John Leroy Timothy, Jr., Kirstie Marie Povltim, Karen Michelle Timothy, and Jeffery Wiley Timothy. He was a devoted brother to Boyce Timothy and a cherished grandfather to Paisley Timothy, Maya Henson, Alexis “Lexi” Povilaitis, Tia Timothy, and Hyapatia Delrosario. The loss of his grandson, Aidyn Timothy, who preceded him in death, is mourned deeply.

John shared a special bond with his two dogs, Bo and TJ, who brought him great companionship and joy throughout the years. Their presence was a source of comfort and happiness in his everyday life.
