John Henry (“Jack”) Clagett, aged 83, passed peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, July 10 at his home in Kennesaw, Georgia. Jack is survived by his large family and many friends, including his sons and daughters-in-law: Rick and Paula and their two sons, Kevin and Bethany and their two sons, Scott and Edina and their three boys, Mike and Bre and their two children, alongside numerous great grandchildren. Carole Belisario Clagett, Jack’s devoted wife, passed in 2012. Jack was a faithful member of Saint Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Kennesaw, Georgia. He thoroughly enjoyed volunteering his time at the church as an usher and in other capacities. The Clagett family has gathered in Kennesaw this week to say goodbye to their beloved father, to reminiscence about his long and remarkable life.
Jack Clagett was raised in Washington, DC and spent significant time in Georgia, Florida, and Virginia. He attended the Georgia Institute for Technology in the early 1960s before venturing out on a long career in construction that would culminate in his Leadership of both Donohoe and Foulger Pratt construction companies in the Washington, D.C., area before retiring in 2004 with Carole in Kennesaw, Georgia. Jack continued his construction career after moving to Georgia to build two beautiful and unique neighborhoods in West Cobb County, Georgia.
Jack was a sports enthusiast, particularly passionate about college football. He loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines. His support and encouragement extended beyond the construction industry, making a lasting impact on those he mentored and guided throughout his life. Jack’s legacy of generosity, laughter and love will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Saint Catherine’s of Sienna Church in honor of Jack Clagett.
