Jim Talley, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2024. Celebration of life ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Ga. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia. He was preceded in death, by his parents, John and Mamie Talley and his son Steve Talley.

Jim was born on March 18th, 1940 in Sanford, NC. Jim lived his entire childhood in Sanford with his parents and his brother Waylon. After college Jim and his wife of 61 years Elizabeth, moved to Cobb county, where he would spend the remainder of his life.

Jim trusted Christ as his savior as a young boy and faithfully served the Lord for many years. For the past 15 years Jim attended Macland Baptist Church. Prior to that he attended North Atlanta Bible Chapel for 40 years where he served as Sunday school superintendent for many years and also preached the Word from the pulpit on occasion.

Jim owned a family owned business for over 50 years before he retired. Even though he owned his own business, he lived a very balanced life giving his love and time to his wife Elizabeth, his three sons and their wives, and his grandchildren. Jim loved studying the Bible, reading various types of literature, playing sports, golfing, traveling, planning fun activities with his grandchildren and family and he authored several books.

Survivors include: Wife of 61 years Elizabeth Talley, of Acworth, GA; brother Waylon Talley of Czech Republic; son Mike (Christy) Talley of LIthia Springs, GA; son David (Josette) Talley St. Louis, MO; daughter-in-law(Brenda) Talley of Smyrna, GA; seven grandchildren Jacob (Christina), Greg, Hannah, Casey, Piper (Ryan), Max, Hudson; two great grandchildren Jackson and Everly.
