Jeanne Therese Pollard (née Tabscott), 92 Passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of June 11, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia.
Jeanne was born on November 12, 1932, at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., to Col. Earnest Edmund Tabscott and Mary Lenore Harrington. She was an only child, and her life was shaped by her adventurous spirit and love of exploration. A lifetime learner, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and master's degrees from Stanford University and the University of Arizona.
Jeanne married Lt. Col. Louis M. Pollard in 1963, sharing a spirited and loving marriage until his passing in 2017. A true Army brat and Army wife, Jeanne’s life was marked by adaptability and a love of travel. Before the age of 42, she lived in twenty-five cities across the world, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Frankfurt, and Beijing. After settling in Tucson to raise her family, she later lived in San Antonio and finally in Marietta. Her extensive travels and diverse experiences reflected her adventurous spirit and inquisitive mind.
Throughout her life, Jeanne held a variety of roles—including radio producer, film editor, public relations specialist, and teacher. Her greatest passion was the theater; she participated in over 100 productions as an actress, director, or producer, inspiring countless lives with her creativity. An avid piano player, she passed her love of music to her children and grandchildren. The daughter of an Irish woman, she never let facts stand in the way of a good story.
She is survived by her four children: Dr. Louis M. Pollard III, Dr. Angela Pollard, Erin Martinson, and Timothy Pollard; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Jeanne’s legacy of curiosity, creativity, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
