James Cole, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, passed away on May 5, 2025, at the age of 78.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gayle Cole; his children, Susan Cardillo, Jimmy Cole and Barbie Franklin. His Daughter-in-law, Marianne Cole and His Sons-in-Law, Frank Cardillo and Mike Franklin.
James was a proud grandfather to Jason Cardillo, Forrest Cardillo, Rachel Cardillo, Benjerman Cole and wife Jaynie, Christina Kirk and husband Pearce, Harrison Cole and wife Tiffany, Kyle Franklin, Ensley Franklin, and Bailey Franklin. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Addi Kirk, Ty Kirk and Kingston Kirk.
He is also survived by his sister; Patricia Vines; his sister Linda Adams and brother-in-law, Harold Adams, his sisters-in-law Marsha Akin, Nancy Jedaszewski and brother-in-law Mike Jedaszewski, sisters-in-law Marcia Clendening and Pat Clendening, along with many other extended family members who will miss him deeply.
James was preceded in death by his parents Forest and Clarice Cole, his mother and Father-in-law Bette and Robert Clendening, his brother Randall Cole, his sisters, Paula Fleming and Sheila Henry. His brother-in-law Harold Akin and sister-in-law Debbie Cole.
James had a deep love for hunting and fishing. He was also an avid sports fan, enjoying Braves baseball, Falcon Football and UGA football. He also had a lifelong appreciation for old westerns.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, stories and unwavering love for his devoted wife and family.
A service to celebrate James's life will be held at the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepard on Saturday, May 17th at 2pm.
