Jacquiline Marie Newsome passed away at her son’s house in Mableton, Georgia on March 31, 2025 at 6:15 am. Jackie as most people knew her was born on April 28, 1949 in the St Denis area of Hickman County.
Jackie was a seamstress at Curlee Clothing Company and Mayfield Manufacturing as well as working on the family farm at Newsome’s Knob located at 1549 Golo Road in Mayfield. In addition, she was a long time caregiver for her mother, husband, uncle and lifetime friend, Rudy Richard. Jackie was a charter member of Mt Haven Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Allard (Anna Marie Sanders) Hayden, her husband, Roy Lee Newsome, a sister, Linda Sue (Kenneth) Elrod, an infant brother, Johny Joe Hayden as well as her paternal grandparents, Damiena Aloysius (Nancy Cora Courtney) Hayden and maternal grandparents, Alvin (Rosa Ella Toon) Sanders.
Jackie is survived by her son, Allen (Marilyn Gaye Martin) Newsome, one god-grandson, Andre Antonetty; two great god-children Ashton Allen Antonetty and Alyvia Marie Antonetty of Powder Springs, GA and two sister’s, Mary Roselyn Rappa of LaPlata, Maryland and Agnes Charleen (Lowell) Daniels of Oregon, Ohio and seven nieces and nephews.
A memorial will be held at Mt Haven Baptist Church on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 4:00 pm. Interment will take place in a private family ceremony at New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Gideon International to honor her memory and help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
