Hillma Phillips Hilley

Hillma Hilley, 92, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away on October 15, 2026.

Born in 1934 in Long Creek, SC, Hillma was the daughter of Coates L. Phillips and Zelia Marie Thrift Phillips. She is predeceased by her parents and three brothers: Ralph, Curley, and Wyatt Phillips; husband, Fred, and son, Dennis.

She grew up on the family farm, graduated from Westminster High School and pursued a career in Nursing. She graduated from Anderson Hospital Nursing School and became a surgical nurse, homemaker and later worked in corrections and hospice care. Her life was spent nurturing others.

She is survived by her daughter Karen and son-in-law Chuck Mathis, daughter-in-law Chris Wasdin and 3 grandchildren: Cole Mathis, and Jace and Chloe Hilley. She has 3 great grandchildren: Scarlett Mathis, and Gracelyn and Adalyn Hilley.

She will be buried alongside her husband at the Georgia Natoinal Cemetery in Canton, GA.
