Hilda Maxine Thead

Mrs. Hilda Maxine Thead, age 85, of Marietta, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Funeral Services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Pastor Matt Petty officiating. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11am until 1pm prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Born and raised in Quitman, Mississippi, Mrs. Thead moved to Marietta, GA in 1969. She worked as a hair stylist for 30 years. She was also a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church and the Burnt Hickory Garden Club. She leaves a legacy of love, family and devotion to her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, traveling, and creating beautiful flower gardens. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Bobby Thead, in 2019. She is survived by her son, James Timothy (Elizabeth) Thead, Dallas, GA, and her daughter, Ellen (Troy) Nixon, Powder Springs, GA; 4 Grandchildren, Jared Preston Crowder, Justin Michael (Heather) Nixon, Steven Joshua (Morgan) Nixon and Lauren Jessica Nixon; 3 great grandchildren, Maren Elise Nixon, Avery Collins Nixon, and Michael Hugh Nixon.

She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, and we take comfort in knowing that she now sits at the feet of Jesus
