Harry Hugh Paul, Jr., age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 13,2025. He was born in Augusta, Georgia on February 15, 1935, to Harry Hugh Paul, Sr. and Louise Jordan Paul. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Nick Gavalas; stepmother, Geneva Paul; stepdaughter, Tracie Reese and sister, Barbara Jo Roland.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Katie Paul; stepdaughter, Kathy Watson; grandsons, Zach Watson and Reid Watson (Kady); granddaughters, Parker Reese and Melissa Elliott (Adam), great grandchildren, Raelynn, Kaden and Jaxson; brother, Hyman Paul; sisters, Harriett Jones (Morgan), Ruth James and Deborah Ingram (Larry); son-in-law, James Reese, numerous nieces and nephews and bonus daughter, Dianne Gambrel.

Harry was a kind and caring protector of his friends and family. He had a wicked sense of humor and never met a stranger. He was always ready to help anyone in need. He loved passing out candy everywhere he went and was known as the "Candyman". He was a patriot and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Cobb County Board of Assessors. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for more than 30 years and served as the sound man for all of that time. He was presently a member of Mercy Hill Church where he is known as the "Candy Cowboy".

A memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Mercy Hill Church, 287 Mount Calvary Road, Marietta, Georgia with Pastor Brandon Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm prior to the service.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Harry's honor to Mercy Hill Church or Tunnel2Towers.
