Gladys Emma Jean Barnett

Gladys Emma Jean Barnett, age 87, of Smyrna, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Floyd Road Baptist Church in Austell with Pastor Keith Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, Georgia.

A native of Monticello, KY, Mrs. Barnett moved to Smyrna, GA 30 years ago. She retired from the F.W. Woolworth Company after over 30 years of employment. She was a long-time member of Floyd Road Baptist Church, and enjoyed being a caretaker for her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayman Earl Barnett, and a son, Michael Wayman Barnett. 

Survivors include: Son, Frank (Cathy) Barnett, Austell, GA; Daughter, Marilyn (Greg) Cowart, Woodstock, GA; 2 Sisters, Dimple Chriswell, Smyrna, GA, and Dovie (Gene) Brinson, Lawrenceville, GA; 2 Grandchildren, Alicia (David) Hannon, and Michael Cowart; 2 Great Grandchildren, Brecon Hannon and Lila Hannon.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
