The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a repass from 2:00 - 5:30 pm at Kulture Event Center, 2932 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066.

Born on November 11, 1968, in Chicago, IL to James and Bernadine McMath. Eric was a loving husband to his devoted wife of 27 years, Debra, and a proud father to his four children, Evan, Ericka, Alexandria, and Ashley. His greatest joy was his family including extended family; he treasured every moment spent with them.

Eric always demonstrated a natural ability to lead. While attending Capital High School, he was elected Class President (Class of 1986)-a role he continued to faithfully serve throughout the years by helping organize reunions, encouraging classmates, and keeping lifelong connections alive. He also served as Drum Major of the marching band and proudly played the saxophone.

Following high school, Eric attended Southern University and participated in the Human Jukebox Band before serving in the United States Army.

He proudly served four years and was honorably discharged. After completing his military service, Eric returned to his education where he earned his Bachelor's degree from Shorter University, graduating cum laude, serving as Cohort President, and earning recognition on the Dean's List. He later earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Mercer University, further demonstrating his lifelong commitment to learning, leadership, and excellence.

Eric's professional journey reflected his passion for serving others. He devoted thirteen years to higher education as an Associate College Professor within the Greater Atlanta university system, where he mentored, inspired, and prepared countless students for success. Eric was also a gifted public speaker who coached others on executive presence and clear communication. He concluded his successful sales career at Lucas Group as a Senior Executive; moving on to become an independent insurance adjuster, earning licenses from various states around the country. He then went on to write children's books. Those who had the privilege of working alongside Eric knew him as kind, personable, and determined-a respected leader whose genuine spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Eric lived a life filled with purpose, achievement, and joy. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he embraced life with passion and enthusiasm, always seeking experiences that brought him closer to others and reflected the spirit of who he was. Whether he was pushing himself to complete an Ironman, bringing energy and excitement to a room while being the DJ of a celebration, volunteering his time to help others, or simply sharing meaningful moments with family and friends, Eric had a remarkable gift for making ordinary moments feel special.

Eric was a proud member of the Free and Accepted Masons, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and the South Fulton Running Partners.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Debra McMath; his children, Evan Williams (Shemika), Ericka McMath (Jason), Alexandria McMath-Kendrick (Matthew), and Ashley McMath; his parents, James and Bernadine McMath; his sister, Marcelline McMath; his brothers, Keith McMath and James McMath; and his five cherished grandchildren Aaricka, Aevan, Avah, Evan Jr, and Santana. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and cherished loved ones who will deeply miss him.
