Elystan "ER" Aubrey, 63, passed away on September 14th in Marietta, Georgia, under hospice care.
ER was born in Bermuda to loving parents, Diane York Aubrey and Elystan Reynold Aubrey, Sr. He lived on the island until he was nineteen, when he was injured in a traffic accident on his way to work at the family jewelry store. After months in a coma, with great effort and determination and the help of dedicated professionals, ER slowly regained the use of his body and was able to live independently for many years in New Hampshire.
Those who knew ER enjoyed his generous spirit, his playful sense of humour and his kind heart. In later years, he experienced several health challenges but rarely complained. ER was an inspiration to all of us and is greatly missed by his beloved mother, Diane York Aubrey, dear sister Kim Aubrey Klement and brother-in-law Joseph Klement, his loving brother Mark Aubrey and sister-in-law Meg Kelleher Aubrey, his nieces, Kristine Klement (Jessica Park) and Kathryn Klement (Jonathan Wragg), and his nephews, Matthew Aubrey (Jamie), Michael Aubrey (Danielle Smith Aubrey), and Max Aubrey (Valeria Metzgen Castro Aubrey).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo. https://bamz.org/
