Ellen Krogh

December 16, 1932 — April 29, 2025

Ellen Martha Andersen Krogh, age 92, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Bountiful, Utah, on December 16, 1932. A lifelong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ellen devoted her life to her faith, her family, and to lifting others through quiet service and love.

As a young adult, Ellen served a full-time mission for the Church in Denmark, where she connected deeply with her heritage and shared the gospel with joy and humility. Upon returning home, she worked as a personal secretary to President David O. McKay before choosing to return to school. She attended the University of Utah, majoring in English. It was during this time, while accompanying a local church choir on the piano, that she met the love of her life, Elmer LeRoy (Roy) Krogh.

Ellen was an exceptional pianist, blessing others with her music for nearly 80 years. Whether in church meetings, community gatherings, or at home with family, she filled spaces with harmony and warmth. Her talents extended far beyond the piano—she was known for her quick wit, fun-loving sense of humor, and tender heart. In her later years, she remained especially close to her sisters, Evelyn and Sonja, cherishing those relationships deeply.

Together, Ellen and Roy built a family rooted in love, faith, music, and resilience. She is survived by 10 of their 11 children: Robin (and Sam) Davis, Kevin (and Nancy) Krogh, Kari (and Dan) Glahn, Steve (and Debbie) Krogh, Kathryn Olsen, Kristin (and Chris) Drysdale, Rick (and Wendi) Krogh, Randy (and Carrie) Krogh, Lauri (and Kinley) Shell, and Robert (and Sharon) Krogh. She is also survived by 52 grandchildren and 84 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy Krogh; their son, David Kyle Krogh; her sister, Sonja Andersen; and other dear loved ones.

Later in life, Ellen and Roy served as full-time missionaries at the Family History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their shared love of genealogy and service touched many lives. Ellen lived a life of quiet strength, filled with compassion, faith, and enduring devotion. Her influence lives on through generations of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who continue to be shaped by her example.
