Douglas Lloyd White, 80, of Acworth, GA, formerly of Erie, PA, passed away at the Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA on July 26, 2024. He was born on April 9, 1944 in Erie, PA. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Jeanne White.
Doug spent most of his life selling real estate and was very involved in the family business, Lloyd White Company Realtors. He was a real estate salesman, appraiser, and instructor. He served as the President of the Greater Erie Board of Realtors. Doug was a true teacher. He was an instructor for the Dale Carnegie School teaching public speaking and management. Later in his life, Doug moved to Georgia to be with his children and grandchildren. Doug was known for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor. Doug was known for his ability to laugh and to make you laugh.
On December 30, 1960, Doug was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. For many years he served as an elder. At the time of his passing, he was on the Body of Elders with the Brookstone Congregation in Dallas, GA. Doug and his wife always enjoyed sharing the message of the bible with others. He took comfort in the hope of the resurrection. He was very much looking forward to being reunited with his wife, Susan, and living together with his family in a paradise here on the earth.
Doug was proceeded in death by his wife, Susan, his parents, Lloyd and Jeanne White and a brother, David. He is survived by his son, Stephen and wife Yvonne of Acworth, GA. A daughter Annie and her husband Justian of Hiram, GA. Grandsons Micah White, Quincy White, and Ryder Pound. A sister Joanne Cowles and husband David of Erie, PA, a sister Karen DeDionisio and husband Mark of Oriental, NC, a brother Kevin White and wife Linda of Erie, PA and a brother Robert White and wife Lori of Lakewood, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
West Cobb Funeral Home will be handling funeral arrangements. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 77 Somerset Dr. Dallas, GA 30132 on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 3:30PM.
