Donnie Gene Ingram was born on June 21, 1942. He passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He will forever be cherished and remembered as a loving and devoted Husband, Daddy, Granddaddy, and Great-granddaddy to his family. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Ingram and Genelle Walraven Ingram Monte. Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Patty Ingram, and his two children; Gennett Brannon (Winn) and their children Tyler Garmon, Abigail Hall, Allison Hall, and George Brannon: Darius Ingram (Tracie) and his children Hayden and Jordan (Sydni). Donnie had a large extended family that he loved, including Patty’s children; Matthew, Joseph (deceased), Preston, and Rachel and their families. His extended family includes 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Donnie Ingram was born in Dallas, Georgia, and attended Dallas High School. He worked at Sears for 45 years and resided in Powder Springs since 1964. Donnie was a life-long member of Macland Baptist Church where he attended and enjoyed Sunday School classes. Donnie was very involved in the community and loved talking to people and getting to know everyone. He was very funny and a bit of a prankster. He truly enjoyed making people laugh. He was a compassionate man who cared for animals. He rescued and cared for many cats over the years. Donnie was passionate about music; He enjoyed attending concerts, old country music and gospel were some of his favorites. He is remembered as a hard-working man who enjoyed fixing and repairing things for all his friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Springville Masonic Lodge #153 in Powder Springs. Donnie was a devout man of faith who had a deep love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The funeral will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Rd, Marietta, GA 30064 on Wednesday, January 26th. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 12:00 noon, with services starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Cemetery in Powder Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lifeline Animal Project or WellStar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia.
