Donald Pickett, Sr.

Donald Wayne Pickett (affectionately known as "Don", "Daddy Rabbit", "Zeke", and "Papa") was born on July 10, 1932 to Minnie Finch and Walter Pickett in Durham, North Carolina. One of twelve children, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings. Donald shared 73 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Faith Marie Pickett.

He proudly served in the Korean War and lived life to the fullest, including racing cars, piloting airplanes, and boating. Donald was also a member of Macland Baptist Church. More than anything, he loved his family deeply and was cherished by all who knew him.

On August 19, 2025, at the age of 93, Donald was welcomed home by God at the gates of heaven. He is survived by his wife, Faith, daughter Vicki McDonald, daughter Joanne (husband Peter) Owens, daughter Robin (husband Mark) Rawson, son Donald Wayne (wife Cathey) Pickett, Jr., 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

In remembrance of Donald, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital (www.stjude.org) in lieu of flowers.
