Don Earl McColister, age 72 of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Don was born on December 28, 1953, in Marietta, Georgia. He was a loving husband, father, and brother who touched many lives. He was active in church and believed in Jesus Christ. Don was a veteran and served in the Air Force from 1972 through 1976. He had many talents from automotive repair to photography to working on computers.

Don is survived by his wife, Mrs. Don E. McColister and their son. Don is also survived by his sister, Janette Elaine Blackston (Thomas) of Marietta, Georgia; his brother, Wayne Douglas McColister (Gina) of Fayetteville, Georgia; and nephews: Franklin Blackson of Mableton, Georgia; Andrew James McColister of Newnan, Georgia; and Michael Jason McColister of Rocklin, California.

Don was preceded in death by his father William Z. McColister and his mother Dorothy Helen Commins McColister.

Interment will be held at a later date at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Services will be updated once confirmed.
