Diane Alice Collins

Diane Alice Collins of Marietta, Ga was called to be with the Lord on his Son’s birthday, Christmas day, December 25, 2023, at age 87 from complications of dementia. Diane was born on June 22, 1936, in North Arlington, NJ, to Silvio and Alice Bianchini.

Diane graduated from North Arlington High School and briefly worked at Homelite. Married her High School sweetheart Robert and began a family. Diane and Robert moved their family to Marietta in 1962. Diane enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends when she was younger and later luncheons and movie day with the girls. In the mid 1970’s, she began a 30-year career with Rich’s department store at Cobb Center in Smyrna. Diane was a devoted grandmother who loved music and dancing and would attend classes at the Senior center. When she wasn’t working or spending time with family, you could find her sitting in her recliner reading the latest novels by her favorite authors. Diane was a fantastic cook and loved making spaghetti and meatballs and the best desserts at family gatherings. Her favorite saying was “Take two meatballs and call me in the morning”.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Silvio and Alice Bianchini, husband Robert Collins, son Bruce Collins and great granddaughter Timber.

She is survived by siblings Terry Bianchini, Yvonne Bianchini, Judy Bosco, Nadine Finelli and Eugene Bianchini; her children Robert Collins Jr, Steve Collins, Elaine Overhalser, Jill Govin and James Collins; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Diane’s full and wonderful life will be held Friday, January 5, 2023, at 11:00 am with visitation and fellowship preceding at 10:00 am. Diane’s remains will be scattered throughout her favorite places.
