In Loving Memory of Deborah Brackett Garcia

Deborah Brackett Garcia, age 70, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026.

Born on September 16, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia, Deborah was a woman with a caring heart who was always willing to help others. She would give whatever she could and do whatever she was able for those in need. Her kindness and generosity touched lives throughout the years.

Throughout her life, Deborah found joy in simple pleasures. She loved animals, especially dogs, and had a special bond with the family dog, Bristol. Whether sharing treats, offering affection, or simply enjoying Bristol's companionship, Deborah's love for animals was evident to everyone around her.

Another one of Deborah's favorite pastimes was watching the birds and squirrels outside her window. She delighted in feeding them and looked forward to their daily visits. She would frequently send pictures to document those small moments that brought her great happiness and peace.

Deborah dearly loved her daughter and her granddaughter, Kendall. Though life brought many challenges, the love she had for her family remained constant.

Most importantly, Deborah gave her heart to the Lord. During her years at Rockmart Health and Rehabilitation Center, her faith became an important part of her daily life. She faithfully attended Sunday church services and participated in devotionals offered throughout the week. Her favorite song was "I Can't Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand)," a reflection of the faith and dependence on God that brought her comfort and strength.

For the past four years, Rockmart Health became more than a residence. It became home. The staff, residents, and therapy team became like family to her. She enjoyed playing games, listening to live music, spending time outdoors, participating in themed activities, and joining in the many events that brought residents together. She found happiness in the friendships she made and the community she became a part of.

In her final days, Deborah spoke openly about her faith and her peace with what was ahead. She shared that she knew her time on earth was limited and that she was ready to meet her Savior. She said she was not afraid. Those words provide comfort to all who loved her and serve as a testimony to the faith she carried in her heart.

Deborah leaves behind her daughter, Michelle Dalton; her beloved granddaughter, Kendall Dalton; and friends whose lives were blessed by her kindness and friendship.

Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Virginia Brackett, and her brother, Richard Brackett.

While her family grieves her passing, they rejoice in the promise that Deborah is now walking hand in hand with the Lord she loved and trusted. Her memory will live on through the lives she touched, the kindness she showed, and the faith she embraced.
