David Ryan Alexander

July 7, 1977 — February 16, 2024

Powder Springs, Georgia

David Ryan Alexander, 46, passed unexpectedly on February 16, 2024.  David was born to parents Joe M. Alexander, Jr., and Becky Albertson Alexander on July 7, 1977.

David was born and raised in Douglasville, Georgia, and was a graduate of Alexander High School in 1995.  After high school, he worked his way up in a company that owned Family Christian Stores.   He became a store manager at one of their locations.  This position at work is how he met Shelley R. Gibbs.  They quickly fell in love and married in 2008.  Together they created a wonderful son, Lane Alexander.  Lane was the apple of his dad’s eye.  As Lane grew older, the two loved to play video games together.

David attended Chattahoochee Technical College in pursuit of a degree in Accounting, but eventually became a reseller of merchandise on the Amazon platform.  In his free time, he and Lane could be found in a friendly competition on their favorite video games.  David and Shelley balanced working and parenting together.

David was preceded in death by his father, Joe Mell Alexander, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Becky A. Alexander; wife, Shelley R. Alexander; son, Lane Alexander; sister, Lori Frith (Jonathan); niece, Hannah Frith; nephew, Hunter Frith; and extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at First Baptist Church in Douglasville, at the Fellowship Hall, on February 24, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
