On June 25, 1961, David H. Adams III “Sweet” was born and raised in Bluefield, West Virginia, to the late David H. Adams II and Marlene Elizabeth Price (Hairston). He later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he graduated from Marion High School and then enlisted in the military, serving in the Air Force from 1979-1983, receiving an Honorable Discharge. After leaving the Air Force, he moved to St. Augustine, Florida, in 1983, where he met his wife and started his family. They then relocated to Powder Springs, Georgia, where he continued his career in the printing industry and ran it for 30 years. He later started his career with DHL in 2022 until he transitioned to Glory.
As a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Sweet enjoyed life to the fullest, always laughing, joking, coaching, and “cooking d’em ribs” and working the grill. He always supported all the kids' activities, especially as a basketball coach for the Lakers and Rockets youth basketball league at S. Cobb Recreation Center; AAU Cardinals, while “getting thrown out of the gym” (yes, he was one of those coaches); tired or not, he always showed up—hard worker and entrepreneur.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 43 years, Celeste Palmer Adams; son, David H. Adams IV; daughters: Alexia Adams (Mike) Rosaria; India Adams; and Paris Adams. Grandchildren: Bryan Opie and David Adams V. Siblings: Ronald Adams (Iris) – Anthony Adams/Danielle Holloway, Donald C. Adams Sr. (Regina) – (Amber Adams/Donald C. Adams Jr.), David Simmons – (Tashara (Nikki) Simmons), and Pamela Price – (Kiara Goode/Donovan Goode). God-daughters: Amirah Williams and Aisha Williams; Honorary Sons: Timothy Slaughter, Rashaud Slaughter; Honorary Brothers: Sam (Cleve) Mason and Big Milt (Milton Lockhart) Henry Johnson; a host of Aunts, uncles, other close relatives, and friends.
