Dale Stevenson

Dale D Stevenson, a cherished family man and devoted husband, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones on July 23, 2025. Born July 2, 1943 in Decatur, Illinois. Dale lived a life marked by dedication to both his family and career.

Dale was married to his loving and devoted bride Barbara for 63 years. They met as teenagers and immediately fell in love. Their years of togetherness never wavered. One of Dale’s early interests was the open water where he took up sailing. Dale and Barb spent many years with the Decatur Yacht Club. They raised their children around the water learning to sail and race. His boats of choice were the Thistle and Laser. This love and passion brought the title of Commodore for the Decatur Yacht Club, a high ranking honor that few achieve. Dale and Barb both shared a love and passion for photography. That passion took them on many adventures around the United States to take cherished photos that were exhibited locally. Dale loved computers and was always working with or fixing them. He started out working on adding machines and made the move to computers when they came out. This career path brought him and Barb to Atlanta Georgia where they settled in Marietta in 1988.

Dale was a faithful family man. Deeply loved and cherished by his family. Survived by: wife Barbara Ann Stevenson (Skrine) sons Robert (Pam), Scott (Julie), Doug (Dawn) as well as many grandchildren Ashley (Mike), Matt (Nicole), Nicole (John), Tyler (Maddie), Andrew, Lauren (Josh), Sean, Mitchell as well as 11 great grandchildren and 2 more on the way. He leaves behind a long legacy of strong family values and profound dedication that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Lauren Ralph Stevenson (Steve) and Lillian Grace Mitchell Stevenson, who instilled in him a strong sense of integrity and compassion that he carried throughout his life. Brothers Gerald (Jerry) Stevenson (Sandy) and Richard Stevenson (Dorthy) both of Decatur Illinois.

A Memorial Visitation for Dale Stevenson will be held on August 9, 2025 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Rd SW, Marietta, GA 30064.

Dale will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the honor of knowing him. His memory will remain alive in the hearts of those he loved.
