We are saddened to announce the passing of Colin Thomas Mabry on August 17th, 2026. Colin was born in Pittsfield, MA, to Thomas and Marianne Mabry on July 12th, 2002, and grew up in Acworth, GA, where he passed.
Colin was proud to graduate from the University of Alabama-Birmingham in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and a minor in Media Studies. He loved sharing his skills from his coding classes and creating a variety of media projects for his minor. Prior to UAB, Colin attended Harrison High School, where he was enthusiastically involved in the Harrison High School Band program playing alto saxophone. He graduated from Harrison HS in May of 2021.
Colin's faith was formed at Christ Lutheran Church of Marietta where he was blessed with a second family. At church, he used his musical talents to play in the handbell choir for several years. Through his mission trips and volunteering, he touched the community with his kindness and generosity.
Growing up, Colin loved playing with Legos, expressing his creativity through building different towers and figurines. He loved to spend time hiking and fishing with friends and family. You could always find Colin on Discord or playing D&D with friends from around the world. He would tell you all about the different games he played, whether someone asked or not. Colin was an experienced traveler given his 24 years. He always had a goal to visit Tokyo, Japan. Colin cherished his time spent with his family and extended family in Wisconsin throughout his life. He took pride in being a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan (and shareholder). You could always look to Colin for a hug, a joke, or his deep boisterous laugh that you could hear from the next room.
Colin is survived by his parents (Marianne and Thomas Mabry) and sister (Emily Mabry); many aunts, uncles, and cousins; his long-term girlfriend (Vanessa Moore); and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Leo and Mildred Wierl, James and Anne Mabry), Aunt Susan Jacobi, Uncle Ken Horwatich, and cousin Ashley Schaut.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 28th, 2026, at West Cobb Funeral Home from 6-9pm. Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church of Marietta with visitation starting at 10am and service starting at 11am. We ask that you bring any photos you would like to share for a picture board to celebrate Colin.
