Charles Allen "Charlie" McMillen, age 76, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, November 4, 2024. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Pastor Ike Reighard officiating.
A native of Owatonna, Minnesota, Mr. McMillen had lived in Cobb County, GA for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retiring after 20 years of service in the 214th Army Band at Fort McPherson. Afterwards, he worked as a driver for Wells Fargo, then retired after 15 years of employment as a letter carrier with the United States Post Office.
Mr. McMillen was a talented musician, and played the bassoon in the Army Band and with the Cobb Civic Orchestra. He also loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church in Marietta.
Survivors include: Wife of 45 years, Sharon L. McMillen; 2 Sons, Roy McMillen, Marietta, GA, and Chad McMillen, Savannah, GA; Sister, Sharon Rae (Kerry) Monsrud, St. Paul Park, MN; 3 Grandchildren, Gavin McMillen, Orlando, FL, Sophia McMillen, Dallas, GA, and Sarah McMillen, Dallas, GA; Niece, Sheena (Chris) Krebsbach, Cottage Grove, MN; Nephew, Kamron (Kelsey) Monsrud, Hastings, MN.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, Georgia.
