Cecil Grant Norwood

Mr. Cecil Grant Norwood, age 80, of Hiram, GA passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, August 24th at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Jeff Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 2pm until 4pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native of Greensboro, NC, Mr. Norwood moved to Powder Springs in 1991, then to Hiram in 2018. He retired as a Retail Manager with the Sears Roebuck & Company after 25 years of employment. Afterwards, he worked as a bartender for several businesses, including Ernie's Steakhouse, Zier's (now Kastaways), the Atlanta Country Club, and the Marietta Conference Center. He then became a Project Manager and supervised government contracts.

Mr. Norwood was also a member of the American Legion, the Elk's Lodge, and served as a Mason. In his free time, he loved gardening, playing golf and tennis, throwing darts, shooting pool, and snowskiing. He had an incredible sense of humor and was lovingly known as the "Ultimate Jokester". He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Norwood and Sherman Norwood, and 2 sisters, Patsy Lattucca and Tonie Lamb.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Bessie Norwood; he was the proud father of Marla (Will) McGuire, San Diego, CA, and Grant Norwood, Atlanta, GA; sister, Kaye Beck, Lexington, NC; brother, Michael (Barbara) Norwood, Greensboro, NC; 4 grandchildren.
